Keep your king alive while trying to capture your opponents' king!
Each week, every student studies 5 prefixes, 5 suffixes, and 5 roots.
Students are to study the word banks at home, during free time in class, etc.
On Fridays, we wage battle and update the scoreboard.
We continue play each week until the war is won.
After a the war is won, we begin a new word bank and repeat the cycle
The Rules
Students will be split into two teams
Each player must have made a complete deposit to the word bank in order to play
To start, teams "Paper-Rock-Scissors" best out of three to see who goes first...
TeacherMason makes the first withdrawal from the bank
The first player is asked to give the definition of the word and:
If answered correctly can:
choose to fortify
choose to attack
then, makes the next withdrawal from the bank for the next team
If player cannot answer correctly, either:
use a magic arrow if available
forfeit the turn for the other team's next player to answer
use of an arrow or loss to the other team forfeits the choice of withdrawal; the challenging team chooses
The new word is then given to the next team's player
